The name we gave this set accurately describes the knight with its fierce countenance captured by the detailed sculpture of its perked ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. This is a large set ideally suited for club and tournament play with a 4 tall king and a base diameter of 1.75. Pieces are made from padauk and boxwood and are heavily weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board. Thick green baize pads on the bottom create a soft cushion and allow the pieces to slide smoothly across the chess board. From top to bottom the pieces have a graceful profile and elegant shape creating a cohesive design from king to pawn.
