This medieval Orleans Battle Axe is from Windlass Steelcrafts' Battlecry collection. Long single-headed axes popular among the mounted warriors of the Middle Ages. Designed specifically to be used and made from 1065 high carbon steel with a darkened, battle-hardened finish and tempering to a low 50s RC. This sharpened blade has gone through rigorous testing. The axe head has a back spike and a sharpened top spike. The long langets are pinned to a stained and turned hardwood shaft. The hands-on nature of the manufacturing by master smiths makes this line unique. Each axe weighs around 3 lbs and is individually inspected to ensure that it is as strong and finely made as the warrior carrying them.
